Named Non-Owner Policy

What is a Named Non-Owner Policy and who qualifies for this type of policy. Not everyone qualifies for a non-owner's policy.

A non-owner policy provides liability protection for an individual who does not own a vehicle or have access to any personal use vehicles on a regular basis, including vehicles owned by household members.

If you live with your parents and plan to drive their cars, you should be listed on their policy as a driver.

Coverage does not apply to vehicles that you own. Coverage applies only to the person listed on the declarations page and does not extend to household members.

Bodily injury & property damage(BI/PD), medical payments, uninsured motorist and under insured motorist coverage (UMPD, and UM or UM/UIM) are the only coverages available. Physical damage coverage is not available. As there is no vehicle to provide physical damage coverage to.

A non-owner policy for business use is unacceptable, but higher liability limits are acceptable.

Once you purchase a policy, you will be issued an instant DL123 form in order to get your license.
